Williams Syndrome Support FAQs

What is Smiling Hearts?

Smiling Hearts is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families raising children with disabilities. We provide community, resources, and advocacy so families feel connected, supported, and celebrated.

Do you only support families affected by Williams Syndrome?

While our roots are in Williams Syndrome, we support families of children with all disabilities, including Down Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD, Fragile X, and many others. Our mission is to ensure every family feels welcomed and supported.

What types of resources do you offer?

We provide a wide range of resources, including peer support groups, workshops, family gatherings, educational guides, and trusted referrals to medical and therapeutic services. Our goal is to connect families with the tools and knowledge they need.

How can families get involved?

Families can join our community by attending events, participating in peer circles, or connecting with other parents through our programs. Smiling Hearts is built on shared experiences, so every parent, sibling, and child is welcome.

How do your events help families?

Our events create safe, joyful spaces where families can build friendships, celebrate milestones, and feel less alone. Whether through local meetups, inclusive playdates, or parent-only support gatherings, each event is designed to strengthen community bonds.

How can I support Smiling Hearts?

There are many ways to help—donations, volunteering, or simply spreading awareness. Every contribution makes a difference, helping us expand our programs and reach more families raising children with disabilities.

Who can join Smiling Hearts?

Smiling Hearts is open to all families raising children with disabilities, regardless of diagnosis, age, or background. Parents, siblings, extended family members, and caregivers are all welcome to be part of our community.

Do you provide support only in Southern California?

While many of our gatherings and events are based in Southern California, we also offer virtual meetups and online resources so families outside the region can feel connected and supported.
